Glen Gabbard, MD

Glen O. Gabbard, M.D. is Brown Foundation Chair of Psychoanalysis and Professor of Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He was formerly the Medical Director of the Menninger Hospital and the Callaway Distinguished Professor at the Menninger Clinic. He was also Joint Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Psychoanalysis from 2001-2007, and Associate Editor of the American Journal of Psychiatry. He is the author or editor of 22 books, including Psychodynamic Psychiatry in Clinical Practice: Fourth Edition, Gabbard’s Treatments of Psychiatric Disorders: Fourth Edition, and Long-Term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy: A Basic Text. He has published over 280 papers and book chapters. Dr. Gabbard has won numerous awards, including the 2004 Adolf Meyer Award of the American Psychiatric Association.
