Description
Identifying behavioral signatures of imminent aggression may be particularly important for those interacting with individuals in crisis, and may become violent or have other aggressive tendencies. At minimum, aggression and violence can be destructive to therapeutic alliance and/or therapy. At worst, such behaviors can threaten the safety of both the client and the mental health professional.
Through this seminar, participants will learn to recognize immediate threats from nonverbal behavior.
Participants will acquire the skills to identify behaviors to assess risk, as well as safe ways to mitigate potential acts of aggression and violence.
Learning Objectives
Through this workshop participants will be supported to:
(1) Identify key characteristics associated with a premeditated assault.
(2) Key characteristics associated with a loss of impulse control.
(3) Describe the ability to differentiate between faces associated with dangerous intent and other emotions.
(4) List behavioral signatures of imminent attack.

Completion Requirements:
To obtain your CE certificate, you must progress through all course segments and readings, and obtain a score of 80% or higher on a post-test. Users will have a maximum of 3 attempts to complete the post-test at 80% proficiency.
Post Test and Course Evaluation:
After completing the pre-test, watching instructional videos, interactive practice sections, supplemental material and readings, the post-test will be available to complete, along the course evaluation.
