Melissa is an HR professional committed to connecting the dots between HR and security to strengthen the health and safety of organizations. For more than 25 years, she has led people practices as a trusted advisor and creative partner. Melissa presents worldwide on the intersection of HR and security, including presentations on How Not to Hire a Psychopath, Words Matter, HR perspective on insider risk, and How to Say Goodbye (employee separations). She consults and trains nationally in workplace violence prevention, psychological safety, and communications. Her work focuses on bringing together her passion for HR and security to bring prevention upstream into our people practices to make the world a better, safer place.
Melissa holds an MBA from the University of Washington and her law degree, with a focus on employment law and mediation, from the Seattle University School of Law.
